Did you know there are La Jolla caves that you can go into?

There are a few La Jolla caves you can explore. Most of them you can only go to during very low tides by kayak.

There is one cave you can explore on foot. The people who dug the tunnel to the cave named it Sunny Jim Cave.

There is an entrance in the ocean that you can get to by kayak during low tide. The local kayak shops have guided tours there. This is the way most people like to explore it because you can see more of this and the other caves.

You can also take the easy way, which is to use the tunnel and go down the stairs. You have to go to a place called the Cave Store which is on Cave St. (I'm serious!).

The store building is over 100 years old. Inside you will learn some history and can enter the cave. They also have souvenirs and postcards to remember you trip.

The downside to the tunnel route is that you can only see a little bit of the cave because they built a deck and that's the only place you can go. They also charge a small fee for entrance which they use to keep the tunnel maintained.

Overall I wouldn't say it's a must-see, but it is definitely cool to walk around the cave and be inside of it.
